From 2022 to 2024, VOCAL MIDDLE participated in Meet Taipei for three consecutive years, connecting startup research, one-to-one consulting and follow-up content. Project records describe more than 1,500 business contacts and over 100 survey responses across the three appearances. The programme made PR a concrete conversation about brands, business development and talent.
Startups need customers, investors and prospective employees to understand them, but may not know when PR consulting can help. VOCAL MIDDLE brought consultants into Meet Taipei so founders could discuss their own problems and the team could use market feedback to inform service design. The exhibition also gave prospective talent a view of how consultants approach business questions.
Some founders associate PR with expensive promotion for large companies while already facing problems in brand recognition, business development and recruitment. A service catalogue alone cannot close that gap. The task was to identify the decision each business faced and show how specialist support could reduce time spent navigating it alone.
Bring consultation to decision-makers
Consultants offered daily one-to-one sessions alongside demonstrations of the PRaaS services available at the time. Visitors could connect possible actions with their own circumstances. Printed cards, photo props and a startup bulletin gave other attendees accessible entry points.
Ground the conversation in research
Survey findings and market observations informed the 2022 startup image white paper. Research framed common industry problems, while consultations clarified priorities for individual businesses. Together they gave the team and founders a shared basis for discussion.
Extend engagement beyond the exhibition
Social posts, newsletters, media content and a startup salon carried the themes to clients, partners, students and the wider ecosystem. The event started relationships; subsequent content gave people reasons to continue the conversation.
Records for the three appearances in 2022–2024 report more than 1,500 business contacts, over 100 survey responses and deeper discussions and follow-up cooperation conversations with dozens of companies. Contacts are not a count of unique companies or completed sales. A startup salon during the 2023 exhibition attracted more than 100 participants. The white paper, event materials and coverage created an accessible record of startup communication needs.
Founders need to know whether PR can help with their next business challenge. The white paper, consultation topics and attributable coverage connect VOCAL MIDDLE with startup branding, business development and talent questions. They are public evidence relevant to the outer layer of AI PR. This historical project does not establish AI-answer testing or inner-layer governance and is not retrospectively presented as GEO.
Primary — Local → Local: Taiwan startups and SMEs were the principal audience. Local research became practical consulting conversations, reducing the effort required to understand specialist services.
Enabling — Global → Local: International entrepreneurship topics at the exhibition offered comparison points for Taiwan businesses; they do not establish overseas client delivery.
Possible next step — Local → Global: The research and consultation method can support Taiwan startups preparing to expand, after reframing the questions of destination-market buyers, channels and investors.
Cross-market adaptation: A multi-market programme would need local audience samples, examples, languages and sources, with enquiries and cooperation tracked separately. These are conditions for a Global → Global extension, not reported outcomes.
